Tears flowed Tuesday morning as Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State visited Ukpabi, Nimbo, in Uzo-Uwani local government area of the state. Ugwuanyi, who could not hold back his tears was in the company of Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nwodibo Ekechukwu, the GOC 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, as well as the Enugu State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.The Governor, thereafter, declared two days fasting and prayer in the State, asking residents to commit the situation into God’s hand.The visit coincided with the recovery of one more dead resident, who was slaughtered by the herdsmen. This is as many survivors, with varrying degrees of injuries on the head, neck, and other parts of the body are currently receiving treatment in different hospitals in Nsukka.As at the time of filling this report, some of them are being moved to the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu.

Concerned by untold suffering as well as hazard emanating from the activities of black marketers, especially those who sell petroleum products inside plastic containers/jerry-cans, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, has directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and FCT/State Commands Commissioners of Police to arrest anybody found selling petrol and other petroleum products in plastic container. The IGP, who issued the directives in Abuja on Monday, April 25, said apart from the hardship this act is causing to fuel buyers, it has also rendered some innocent and law abiding citizens homeless due to fire outbreak from jerry-can petrol storage. He noted that fuel products such as petrol are highly flammable and if not stored and handled properly, can seriously endanger people, property and the environment. Serious communal war broke out this morning amongst the Isekiri Community in Warri.  As I am writing this report, it is reported that nine people have already been killed in the ongoing crisis.  "This is a very rare occurrence in Warri, I mean, people from the same Community fighting themselves ", a weeping woman lamented.  It was gathered that a faction of the Community has instituted a case against the new Olu in Court while the action did not go down well with another faction of the same community,  Though the Army and Police have moved in, the violence is far from being contained.  Details later as events unfold.

Popular singer Keshinro Ololade, stage name Lil Kesh, is set to part ways with his mentor and label boss Olamide. The news of their business separation has been subject of rumours, but there are indications this is not unconnected to the expiration of Kesh’s two-year contract with the Olamide-led label, YBNL Nation. An Islamic organisation, Muslims Against Terror, has called on the Federal Government to declare Fulani animal herders involved the killing of farmers around the country terrorists and insurgents. Signed by Dr. Ahmad Amadi Jnr., the statement called for unrestrained condemnation of the herders' violent activities. ‎ "We urge the government of Nigeria to condemn these wanton acts firmly and declare the perpetrators terrorists and an insurgency according to the law and deal with them with the full power of the military," the group demanded.
